NEXT WEEK - Kicks Off "Mission Month"
The Toppenish Gang is Coming!
Our friends from the Yakama Nation have accepted our invite next week-end, and they’re bringing a crew - up to 50 people - to help us kick off a Month of Missions here at FCC! We’re honored to be hosting, but are also sure their coming will leave us richer, too! Here’s how you and your family can get involved:
Fry Bread Clinic - Saturday, July 31 at 7:00pm Learn to make authentic Native American fry bread from the women of the Yakama Nation -- right here in the FCC kitchen!! We’ll make bread for the next day’s potluck, as well as learn some traditional and creative ways to serve it up at home! Everything will be supplied (if you can afford to give something to cover the materials that would be gladly received, too!), so mark the calendar and come to learn!
Worship Service = Sunday, August 1 at 9:30am
Along with our mission friends, Bill & Leah Westfall, who will also be here that day to tell about their BSU campus ministry in Idaho, we’ll be celebrating our Yakama friends’ visit with a short summary of church life and outreach in Toppenish from McKinley Mission church pastor, Wayne Goodman and his wife, Valerie. We’ll also have pictures of the work done these past two years by our mission teams. Should be terrific!
Fry Bread Potluck - at 12:00 noon
Please plan on staying for lunch, as we’ll be making “Indian Tacos” on Flat Bread and sharing a bounty of potluck salads and desserts before we send our guests off to Camp WiNeMa’s Week of Missions. We’ll need lots of food that day...can you bring a very large salad or dessert to share (remember, we’ll have around 50 guests)? If so, please mark the tear-off sheet on the bulletin Sunday or email the office.
